Things are incredibly hectic and people are running around like mad chickens, but everything is coming together.  Yay!  I might even have a dress tonight!  I’m getting really excited.   We are also going to have all of the landscaping finished by this evening.  *Happy Dance*  *Wiggle Wiggle* *Happy Dance*

I’m leaving in a few minutes to go have my hairs dyed.  Yay!  Pink hairs!  Can you tell that I’m like super excited?

Tomorrow is the rehearsal and dinner with all my lovely helpers and friends and family.  I’m so grateful for everyone’s help.  <3 <3 <3

Wow… only 3 days left.

Status check:

Pond installed!!! Rocks being delivered today.  Bridge assembly today.

Alot of miscellaneous things have been completed.

The dress, however, is not one of them.  I have to sew like a madwoman today.

Oh no… only a week!

Yesterday was, again, a whirlwind of activity.  Michael and his brother worked outside most of the day.  They glued the footers for the bridge, and then installed the skimmer for the pond.

I went on an adventure to pick up the wee one and drop off the ribbons for the cake.  Then, when I got home I actually worked on the dress!!!  I got so far as to make the lining for the petticoat.  I also read the instructions for the ruffley interior bits of the petticoat.  Yay me!  Then, I decided to check on the boys.

Going outside to check on them resulted in deciding to help.  So, I filled all the cinder blocks for the waterfall with dirt, then built up all the area around the 4 block high cinder block wall with dirt.  Michael helped me with that while his brother finished the bottom of the pond.  That was definitely hard work!  Eventually, I had the whole wall thing covered so we were ready to lay the GINORMOUS pond liner.

Quickly, we discovered the liner was quite a bit wider than necessary.   It was difficult to maneuver, but we got it done.  We added some water to hold the liner in place and Michael attached the door to the skimmer.  This is about the time I quit.  I was EXHAUSTED from moving all the dirt.  I went inside, cleaned up, and went on a journey to AC Moore and Target.

AC Moore yielded the etching cream needed for a top secret project.  Target yielded food for dinner.  After preparing some ultra-yummy nachos, I settled down to watch Wednesday night’s Project Runway.  (This is now about 10 pm).  This somewhat motivated me to get back to the dress, but I opted instead to watch an episode of Good Eats featuring fondue (Alton Brown is a genius) and work on a top secret project (that did not involve etching cream) for the favors for the wedding.  I actually completed that task (in about 2-2.5 hours).  I debated cutting fabric for the dress, then decided it was 2am-ish and I was soooooo tired.

So, I slept.

This morning, I woke up about 7:30am.  I actually got up, cut out the tulle for the ruffley bits, and then wrote this.  In about 15 minutes, I’m taking the small one to a home-school park day, so I guess I need to stop rambling and go do a super-duper ultra-quick clean up of the house.  We have company coming this afternoon, and all of my projects are laying about.

Oh yeah… tonight’s the Bachelorette Party and Bachelor Party!  I’m sooooo excited!

8 days…

Filed under: Bride's Daily Update, Uncategorized — Laura @ 08:41

Yesterday was a blur of activity.  We cleaned the house, moved furniture around, opened all the boxes of goodies we’ve recieved, cleaned the garage and took a bunch of stuff to the storage unit, dug a hole, built a cinderblock retaining wall, and met with our DJ and planned the music for the reception and ceremony!

It was a solid 12 hours of work.  I did not do anything to the dress, but we pretty much got everything else done that I’ve been needing to help with.  So, I’m really excited.

So, I’m going to go create a dress, and later we need to finish writing the vows and ceremony text.  Also, I have to drop off ribbons for the cake.

I better get started.

22 days… eek!

Well… we’ve been busy sorting through the piles of junk in the garage to make sure we have a “staging point” for anything we need to organize in correlation to the wedding.  Great fun!

I have been hearing responses to invitations and am still blushing at the lovely compliments!  I’m very happy they are appreciated.

I actually plan on starting on my dress tomorrow… I really do kinda need to get that done…

Well, today nothing productive happened… other than picking up Michael’s brother from the airport.  So, the 2 of them get to dig a hole and play with pond equipment this week.

I actually did mail out invitations yesterday though!  I am amazed I FINALLY finished them.

Tomorrow… I start on the dress.

Oh yeah, and yesterday my two sisters came over and we folded many an origami crane.  We definitely will have the 1000 for the wedding!  YAY!

Invitations nearly nearly finished.

Wow… so I’ve been working REALLY hard to get the invitations finished.  I’ve spent about 12-14 hours this past week on them.  I have a large group ready for the printed vellum.  So, tomorrow we will print vellum, then I’ll hand address them.  Hopefully Tuesday I really will have a large portion of them in the mail.  I feel really awful that it has taken so long for me to finish them.  Its not all that surprising though, I’m generally overambitious.

We have 94 of the 1000 cranes needed for the ceremony.  We plan on getting the rest folded this weekend at our “folding party.”  I also have to scope out the links my wonderful friend sent me for sakura origami.  I’m hoping there is bouquet potential.  Every girl needs a partially paper bouquet… >.>

I’m going to sleep now… we have Taekwondo summer camp early in the morning… yay!
